Why the price is split in two

Most of the work happens at send: fetching or typesetting the document, hashing it, storing it, minting a token per signer, and delivering the mail. Execution adds the merge, the certificate page and the audit artifact.

Splitting them means an envelope nobody ever signs costs 15, not 25. You are not billed for a completion that did not happen. A single flat price would have been simpler to explain and worse to be charged.

Refunds

A non-result is never billed

If the document cannot be fetched, typeset or stored, or if not one invitation could be delivered, the reserve is refunded in full and pool-exact — back into the same credit pools it came out of, in reverse draw order.

And if your wallet is short at the moment the last signature lands, nothing is lost. The envelope executes, the signatures stand, and the executed copy is produced as soon as the charge clears.

Keyless agents

$0.300 per envelope over x402

USDC on Base, no account and no key. https://sign.ounie.com/api/x402/send answers 402 with terms; sign and retry with an X-Payment header.

One difference worth knowing first: this rail quotes the whole lifecycle up front (25 credits equivalent), because a keyless caller has no account to bill when the last signature lands days later. So a keyless envelope that is never signed still paid for an execution that did not happen. On the credit rail you pay the 10 only when it actually executes.
